2008 4-H Summer Camp

Every summer, 4-Hers head to Camp Seeley (in the San Bernardino Mountains) for the 4-H Summer Camp.  Open to boys and girls ages 8 to 19.

4-H Website Training
The California 4-H Computer Corps will host a website training course on Saturday, July 12, 2008 from 1:00 to 4:00pm.  The training is open to 4-H youth and adults in Los Angeles and neighboring communities.  The training will be held at the Los Angeles Cooperative Extension office located at: 4800 E. Ceras E. Chavez Ave., Los Angeles, Ca 90022.  Please RSVP by July 7, 2008.

4-H Pet Symposium
Los Angeles County youth will have an opportunity to learn about pet care, along with community service opportunities and careers related to pets, on October 11th, 2008, 10 am to 4 pm, as part of the 4-H Youth Development Program’s first annual Kids Pet Symposium.  The free event will be held at UC Cooperative Extension, 4800 E. Cesar Chavez Ave., in Los Angeles.  Young people ages 7-15 are encouraged to attend this event, which will include workshops for youth on beginning and advanced dog, cat, rabbit and “pocket pet” care (pocket pets include guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, and rats).  Kids will also have an opportunity to learn about careers in animal care, the importance of responsible pet ownership, and how they can make a difference helping animals in their own communities.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.  If you are interested in having a pet-care related booth please contact Ashley Whitaker anwhitaker@ucdavis.edu or (323) 260-3844.
