Fresh from the Garden

Fresh from the Garden provides healthful cooking demonstrations, targeting community and home gardeners, teachers and parents associated with school gardens, and interested neighborhood and community organizations.

Our audience is varied, but primarily consists of families and individuals with limited incomes and resources, and a lack of English language skills.  Therefore, Cooperative Extension offers classes that are free and available in English and Spanish.  Each presentation is designed to increase knowledge of healthful eating habits, while emphasizing the health benefits associated with a vegetable-rich diet.  Staff make efforts to include tips on harvesting, handling and storage, along with information on basic nutrition.

Fresh from the Garden is funded by the Food Stamp and Nutrition Education Program (FSNEP), United States Department of Agriculture.
